When we found out she had terminal cancer we all looked at each other and said “are you FUCKING kidding me?” Because this is the last woman who should get sick like that. Cancer is terrifying and it’s going to take some one way too soon who did everything in her power to stop it. If she had known there was an at rush body part she could remove she would have done it. I’m not the right person to say “wow, this is so accurate!”. That ain’t mine to claim. But damn, this a powerful post.

You might also want to read this post first if you’re a long-time Hyperbole and a Half fan rather than just tuning in now.

It’s like reading a diary entry about myself.

So glad she’s back and feeling…well, something, apparently. And this post is stunning and spot-on about facets of depression I have never really been able to articulate. Like carrying around dead fish.

This blog post is probably the most clearly articulated explaination of what it’s like to experience severe depression. My kernel of corn was the day i got up on my own, made a pot of coffee and poured it before I realized I hadn’t done that on my own in seven MONTHS. The dam doesn’t excatly break and return you to normal, but a crack forms and a trickle starts and with enough time and work you can make that crack wider.
